The first teen skin care routine: what to use and how to get started | Fashion trends

Teen skin care has its own fickleness. Things are less complicated in some ways and more in others. You don’t have to worry about countless serum mixes and using multiple products to get that glow and freshness because it is naturally present in young skin. However, at the same time, the skin begins to develop acne and secrete oil, damaging the face. It’s best to keep a teen’s first skin care routine as simple and moderate as possible. The only goal should be to have healthy skin. The idea is to introduce products gradually and not launch everything at once. Slow and steady wins the race, and in this case, slow and steady will increase your chances of finding a likely allergen or irritant. At this stage, eliminating imperfections is less important than maintaining the health of your skin. The optimal skin care routine for teens can be defined under a CMS (Cleanse, Moisturise, Sunscreen) program. Teenagers need to be extra careful at this stage, as their skin could use all the gentle, loving care it can get.

In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Prasanna Vasanadu, founder of Tikitoro, suggested how teens can take care of their skin through the CMS skincare routine.

Step 1: Cleaning

Teenagers should cleanse their skin regularly, regardless of their skin type. If you don’t want to dry out your skin, choose a gentle cleanser, and if you have acne-prone skin, choose an oil-free or salicylic acid cleanser. It is also important to take extra care of the t-zone when cleaning your face.

Step 2: Moisten

Lotion: Be sure to moisturize both before bed and after you wake up. Choosing moisturizers that aren’t greasy will keep your skin nourished without making it look shiny. Even if your skin tends to produce a lot of oil, you still need to moisturize. It will help prevent and control other additional breakouts.

Body wash and lip balm: The lip balm and body wash you use also play a vital role in moisturizing; moisturizing is a step beyond using a lotion. Just like your face and body, your lips also need extra care and attention. Try to apply a moisturizing lip balm regularly, especially in the morning and evening to keep your lips hydrated and prevent tears.

Likewise, it’s critical to use a body wash that doesn’t strip your skin of its moisture. Always use a body wash that hydrates and purifies your skin without making it dry, leaving it radiant and healthy.

Step 3: Sunscreen

Good sunscreen is essential for everyone, especially teenagers. Brutal burns can be caused by UVB radiation from the sun. By using sunscreen, you can prevent skin burns and protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays

In short, keep it simple. Cleanse and moisturize regularly to keep your skin healthy and nourished. Last but not least, get in the habit of doing the entire routine every time, no matter how exhausted you are. The sooner you start, the happier your skin will be and the easier it will become a daily process!
