In this review article, we’ll take a closer look at the key things to consider about this supplement, reveal how we approach it, and give you everything you need to know about it so you can consider whether or not it’s right for you.
So with the introductions out of the way, let’s get down to taking a closer look at the model’s Superblend Protein from all angles.
Superblend Protein Composition – The Basics
Protein powders are one of the most popular types of nutritional supplements, and they’re especially popular with gym-goers looking to increase their protein intake (as you may already know, protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass).
We’re big fans of vegan supplements from Form Nutrition and have already reviewed their flagship vegan protein powder offering – Form Performance Protein – right here on the site.
Form is a UK-based supplement company that focuses on botanical products to support general health and well-being.
Similar to an “enhanced” protein powder, Superblend Protein is a shake with 20g of plant-based protein plus a host of other ingredients such as essential vitamins and minerals, to support your intake from food sources.
It’s currently sold in four flavors — Chocolate Peanut, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Toffee and Vanilla — and each serving contains 20 grams of protein as well as a number of other ingredients.
Let’s cover some basics first. Each serving of Superblend Protein contains 20 grams of plant-based protein (organic pea protein, plus brown rice and pumpkin seed proteins). Depending on the flavor, each serving contains about 150 to 160 total calories, and less than two grams of sugar. Superblend Protein uses the sweeteners Stevia and Thaumatin to enhance the taste.
In addition to the protein, this supplement also contains a host of added supplements. They include a mixture of vegetable and fruit powders such as broccoli powder, beetroot powder, and blueberry powder. This supplement also includes a blend of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin a, vitamin c, vitamin b6, b12, vitamin d3, and zinc.
These inclusions set this supplement apart from most regular protein shakes, which usually include protein sources, sweeteners, and not much else. Each serving of Superblend Protein delivers an array of vitamins and minerals to help support and increase your intake of food sources.
Form Superblend Protein is currently only available in 520g packaging, or 40g bags. However, you can buy six 520-gram bags together to get 20 percent off your order from the Form Nutrition website. One 520g sachet is priced at £26 on the form’s website at the time of writing, definitely making it an excellent priced supplement.
The taste and flavours
If you’ve read our Form Performance Protein review, you’ll know that we rate it as one of the best tasting plant-based protein bars on the market right now.
You might think that with all the added ingredients in Form’s Superblend Protein, the taste and ease of mixing of the powder could suffer, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn’t the case.
We tried the chocolate salted caramel flavour. We took 1 serving (2 heaping tablespoons) in a glass of water after a workout and found the mixture dissolved easily. Most importantly, it tastes great, even with just water.
As mentioned above, Superblend Protein is currently available in a range of flavors – Chocolate Peanut, Chocolate Salted Caramel (which we tried), Toffee and Vanilla. Each flavor has slightly different nutrients when it comes to things like fiber, sugar, and fat (check out the Form website for more information) — but all flavors provide a total of 20 grams of protein per serving.
What do customers say?
This supplement is also available on Amazon in the UK, so we took a look there to see what customers are saying about Superblend Protein.
At the time of writing, Form’s Superblend Protein has an average rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars from a total of 212 reviews on Amazon UK.
One happy customer left a five-star review and said Form’s Superblend Protein fit them perfectly for what they were looking for.
One of the most negative reviews came from someone who left a three-star review and said that this supplement was simply too sweet for their liking.
Anything else to take into consideration?
As with all nutritional supplements, it’s best to speak to your doctor or a certified medical professional before trying anything new or making any changes to your diet.
It is also a good idea to carefully check the information provided by the manufacturer on the official website or the packaging itself, as details may change from time to time and therefore differ from what is shown on this page.
Wrapping things up – our final thoughts
So, that brings us to the end of our Form Superblend Protein review. We’ve walked you through the key things to keep in mind when it comes to an advanced protein powder. We’ve taken a closer look at the ingredients and brought you the key nutritional things to know about this vegan-friendly protein supplement.
It tastes really good and mixes really well – but the flavor is definitely on the sweeter side and so may not be to everyone’s taste.
Overall, we are fans of this protein supplement and it is a great option if you are looking for a quality plant-based protein drink with added nutrient support and other good stuff. If you’re looking for a more straightforward plant-based protein supplement, be sure to check out the slightly simpler Form Performance Protein.
