The PROJECT: “The Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) program, titled ‘Leave No One Behind’, provides high-quality integrated and inclusive family planning and sexual and reproductive health services to marginalized and hard-to-reach populations: the poor, youth under 20 and people with disabilities. WISH is the UK government’s flagship program to scale up its support for integrated sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services in a number of countries in Africa and Asia by 2023. It represents 20% of the UK government’s 2020 family planning commitments. The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) administers the WISH program through a consortium agreement (Lot 2) with 10 IPPF member associations and carefully selected partners chosen for their expertise to maximize access and reach for people in 15 countries: Development Media International (DMI), Humanity and Inclusion UK (HI), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Marie Stopes International (MSI) and Options Consultancy Services (Options). WISH2ACTION has entered a 12 month Fee Extension Period from 1/4/2022 to 31/4/2023. HI will continue country-inclusive SRHR activities in South Sudan, Uganda and Madagascar, provide remote technical assistance to all WISH2Action partners and also provide targeted remote technical assistance to up to four WISH2ACTION countries (Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Ethiopia TBC ) will be a global position focused on inclusive technical support for SRHR for WISH2ACTION. The SRHR specialist coordinates with the SRHR Technical Manager and the Global Coordination Unit in Uganda (Regional Operations Manager, the MEAL Officer) with

the WISH team in the countries of intervention (Ethiopia, Uganda, South Sudan, Mozambique, Madagascar, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh and the GHD and HQ SRHR Specialist based in HQ.

Description :

Under the supervision of the WISH2ACTION Technical Manager, the SRHR specialist will contribute to the definition of the technical design and implementation of WISH2ACTION project strategies for inclusive SRHR (iSRHR) and will provide technical guidance to consortium members, policy makers and service providers in the field of disability including iSRHR.

  1. To provide timely and robust technical guidance to the HI-WISH2ACTION teams and consortium members a. Ensure that technical assistance on disability inclusion is provided in a timely, qualitative and responsive manner. b. Remote support technical assistance to WISH2ACTION consortium partners and countries c. Develop and disseminate appropriate tools and guidance to support remote technical assistance for inclusive SRHR d. Contribute to monitoring the progress and pace of project implementation to ensure the project meets high quality standards and is aligned with defined milestones. e. Support the implementation of HI-inclusive SBCC strategy in WISH HI countries in collaboration with the local SBCC specialist f. Review technical resources from colleagues from HI countries and WISH partners g. Hold webinars and capacity building online and face-to-face
  2. Contribute to the internal and external coordination within the project a. Contribute to the effective implementation of a functional technical-operational coordination system for the project b. Ensure regular information exchange with all relevant HI staff at HQ level, Uganda and WISH2ACTION countries c. Contribute to smooth communication and coordination between the different stakeholders of the WISH project consortium.
  3. Networking and advocacy a. Represent HI in the WISH2ACTION in consortium learning events and meetings to ensure visibility, participation and technical advocacy at the level of the consortium partners b. Liaise with partners and key stakeholders to contribute to the visibility and representation of the HI

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in public health (or specialization in medicine/obstetrics in disability inclusion) • 3 to 5 years experience in SRHR and inclusive health • Skilled in inclusion and rights of people with disabilities • Excellent team worker; ability to create dynamic and highly positive working relationships, including from a distance


The position is currently based in Uganda (Kampala), but we are open to remote work (for highly experienced profiles).
