“We believe in an inside-out approach to treating the scalp for the healthiest hair possible,” said Ni’Kita Wilson, vice president of product development at OUAI. BAZAAR.com. “After all, the cord can only be as strong as the follicle; the follicle performs best when it is surrounded by healthy tissue that can provide optimal nutrition. Our Topical Scalp Serum Treatment helps create a balanced, healthy surface, while the Thick & Full supplements strengthen the scalp from the inside out.

OUAI’s new and improved fat and complete supplements are designed to be taken once daily with food and water and are powered by ingredients such as pea sprout extract, biotin, and a multivitamin complex to encourage longer, fuller hair in up to 60 days. “There are a few exciting differences between our new supplements and their original formula,” explains Wilson. “The supplements are now vegan, so anyone who previously couldn’t take part in our hair thickening supplements can now definitely take them. Secondly, they are available in capsule form, which makes them easier to swallow.”

In addition to strengthening fine, thinning and damaged hair, the supplements are also designed to minimize hair loss and overall vitality.

To balance scalp oil and hydration while stimulating hair growth, the brand’s Scalp Serum uses a blend of ingredients like hyaluronic acid, plus adaptogens like arctic root, Siberian ginseng, and chaga mushroom. The treatment is also made for daily use and is massaged directly onto the scalp, starting from the natural part and moving along the hairline.

“We wanted to make using the Scalp Serum really effortless,” says Atkin. “This leave-in formula spreads easily and absorbs quickly without compromising on your style or natural volume (or lack thereof).” It is also versatile in your routine. “Scalp Serum can be applied to wet or dry hair in the morning or evening,” says Atkin, who also recommends using the serum “first before other hair products, such as dry shampoo.”

The Scalp Serum is ideal for soothing irritated skin from hair styling; also contains a vegan formula that is safe for color-treated, keratin- and chemically-treated hair; and features the brand’s Cape Town fragrance with notes of ginger, green fig and spearmint.

“We are excited to see how our community is reacting to our launch of Scalp Serum and Thick & Full Supplements,” says Atkin of the brand’s upcoming releases. “We hope to continue our journey into hair and scalp health with new launches soon.”
