STARKVILLE, Mississippi — The state of Mississippi will celebrate Women’s History Month during the month of March with a variety of events, including presentations and discussions on important women’s issues and numerous networking and community development activities.
The first of three events in the Women’s Health Luncheon Series begins the month with a discussion on the history of women’s health care beginning March 1 at 11:30 am in the John Grisham Room of the Mitchell Memorial Library. Two other luncheons – the March 8 presentation, “Health Care for the Whole Woman” and “Medical Care as Self-Care” on March 22 – are scheduled for the same time and location later this month. Sports fans can cheer on Bulldog women’s teams all month long with free admission to games and matches. Events include March 3 tennis matches against the University of Kentucky; softball games during the Alex Wilcox Memorial Weekend March 3-5 and the Bulldog Invitational March 9-12; and Athletics’ Bulldog Relays, scheduled for March 23-25. The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion will present “Our Voice, Our Insights: A Panel on Women’s Empowerment” on March 20 at 11:30 am in Memorial Hall’s Coskrey Auditorium. The Women’s History Month Tribute “You Are Appreciated, We Are Inspired” will be held on March 23 at 11:00 am in Drill Field, where participants will be able to write letters of appreciation to the faculty, staff and friends who have helped, inspired and supported him during his time at MSU. Sponsored by the offices of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Survivor Support, the event’s rain location is the first floor of the Union.
The annual Women’s Empowerment Brunch will be held on March 25th at noon at the Bost Extension Center.
