Meghan Trainor exuded confidence as she walked the red carpet at the American Music Awards after revealing she’d lost 60 pounds after giving birth to her son Riley.
The singer appeared head-to-toe in pink sparkle for the Los Angeles AMAs at the Microsoft Theater, confidently modeling her suit held together by a silver diamond circlet just above her navy.
The megastar, 28, recently opened up about her struggles with body image after gaining weight while pregnant with her son.
When she shared, she was at “over 200 pounds” and “in a very dark place,” the artist — who shares her child with husband and Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara — beamed at the prestigious event.
All About That Bass icon Meghan revealed her secret to the dramatic weight loss when she explained that she had “learned what portions mean.”
She went on to talk about her post-pregnancy body: “I weighed over 200 pounds when I took him out of the C-section.
“I just wasn’t feeling well. I’ve never had stitches before, so to have this C-section scar put me in a really dark place and I wanted to be in a great place for my son.
‘I’ve learned that I like healthy food and what portions mean.
“And I’ve learned that my brain is so happy when I work out,” she told ET Canada.
The chart-topper who regularly posts behind-the-scenes footage of her family life on Tik Tok emphasized that her healthier habits had a positive impact on her mental state: “I was very committed and I started to see the pounds come off. like a week at a time.”
She explained that the lifestyle change made her feel “better than ever” and that her confidence is now “a good eight or nine.”
Her transformation follows an interview she did with Mail Online in which she let slip that he struggles with confidence amid the baby weight gain.
The award winner admitted: ‘The first song I wrote after giving birth, I mean after a C-section with my stretch marks, I felt extra, like I didn’t love myself.
“I was heavier than I’ve ever been and I was just super lost.
“The first song I wrote is called Remind Me and it’s about how my husband reminds me who I once was and how beautiful he thinks I am and I see that a lot on this album.”
