A 70-year-old Brazilian grandmother claims she was mistaken for her daughter, who is more than two decades younger.
Sandra Maria Cardoso told Jam Press that, at one point, strangers believed the two were sisters.
“I have a young mind and that’s why I like to be in shape with my body”, said the grandmother, who is from Rio de Janeiro.
The daughter, Soraia Cardoso, is 49 years old, but the curious are often deceived. Sandra’s youthful glow isn’t just from hitting the genetic jackpot—she takes extra care of herself to ensure she maintains her looks.
“I always went to the gym and took supplements like vitamin D, omega 3 and vitamin C. I go to the gym from Monday to Friday to do weight training, stretching and aerobics”, he revealed. “I take care of the skin on my body with good moisturizing creams, and I also do lymphatic drainage and modeling massage.”

But her real secret to undying beauty is “having an open mind” and practicing self-love – and something is working. The fit granny declared that she gets attention even from the guys.
Soraia has adopted a similar mindset – and regimen – saying she’s been taking care of her skin, especially her face, since she was 40. But she also got professional help through Botox, laser treatments and high-quality creams.
“The secret is to be in balance with the mind, spirit and body,” he added. “I try to take care of myself to age beautiful and healthy.”
After seeing her mother meticulously take care of her appearance, Soraia was inspired to do the same as she grew older. The duo’s meticulous beauty maintenance also led them to adopt a procedure to remove cellulite.

“I was embarrassed when I put on a bikini. When I went to the beach, I asked someone to go to the sea to fill a bucket of water so I could cool off alone on the sand”, recalls Soraia.
“I didn’t wear certain clothes because they marked me. My self-esteem was at an all-time low. I always felt uncomfortable when looking at myself in the mirror,” she added, admitting that even though her husband said he was “okay,” she still felt “embarrassed.”
Called GoldIncision, the two tried the treatment that supposedly eliminates skin depressions by stimulating collagen – and are “delighted” with the results.
While they are no strangers to cosmetic procedures, having both had liposuction and Botox injections, now the mother-daughter duo hit the beach in bikinis without a second thought.
“I think we should take care of our mental, physical and aesthetic health because life flows with more lightness and balance”, insisted Soraia. “A person with low self-esteem misses out on the opportunity for a fulfilling life.”
Other beauty enthusiasts swear by similar methods. Kim Kardashian, for example, has admitted to applying a laser to her belly, while Kelly Ripa has adopted wrinkle-smoothing injections.
