Winter is here and so are lazy days when you just want to stay in bed. In fact, this time of year can cause sniffles, coughs, and colds. And that’s not all! Bones and joints also hurt in winter. In such a situation, it can be difficult to focus on a weight loss plan. However, to lose weight and maintain high energy levels, you can modify your diet and include some winter fruits in your diet.

HealthShots reached out to Dr. Rohini Patil, an MBBS and nutritionist, to find out which winter season fruits can help you shed a few pounds.

Dr. Says Patil, “Winter is the season when your diet and exercise routine needs extra attention. A drop in temperature tends to make you eat more and spend less time exercising. This means that despite your high calorie intake, you burns fewer calories resulting in weight gain, however winter weight problems can be resolved with some exercise and diet control.

Here are 9 winter fruits that can help with winter weight loss:

1. Oranges

This is an extremely rich source of Vitamin C and has often been shown to be a natural fat burning source. Vitamin C helps the body’s metabolism function normally, making oranges the best fruit for weight loss. They contain a lot of water and satisfy your irregular hunger pangs.

2. Fig

Figs, also known as carnation, are rich in dietary fiber, which can help you feel fuller for longer. It has an enzyme called “ficin” that promotes better and faster digestion of food, which speeds up the process of losing belly fat. It contains a wealth of nutrients, including copper, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus.

3. Guava

If you get hungry in the winter, guava is a great snack. It tastes great, satisfies your mid-day sugar cravings, and paired with a few nuts like almonds or walnuts really ticks the health quotient. It’s also high in fiber and vitamin C, which can help prevent winter flu.

4. Custard apple

It is well known that custard apple is a great source of vitamins and minerals, which are crucial for a variety of biological processes.
