Bodybuilding beast Jay Cutler talks about his $100,000 business journey to a multi-million dollar net worth: “Got individual money from basically nobody”

4x mr. Olympia Jay Cutler is one of the sharpest minds to walk the bodybuilding stage. Cutler is the exact opposite of “all muscles, no brain.” Apart from being an exceptional bodybuilder, Cutler has also proven himself to be an incredible businessman. Due to his phenomenal entrepreneurial skills, Cutler’s current net worth is estimated at around $30 million.

Mr. Fourth Quarter was not born with a silver spoon, however. He worked hard to earn money and then wisely invested his hard-earned money. While online/remote affairs are the norm these days, Cutler did it at a time when it was uncommon. In a podcast interview in 2022, Cutler gave an extensive account of how it all started for him as an entrepreneur.

In October 2022, Jay Cutler appeared on the podcast ‘The Iced Coffee Hour’. In the podcast, Cutler revealed that in 1995, after landing his first sponsorship and magazine cover, Cutler gained an international fan following. He started receiving fan mail from all over the world. This sparked a business idea in Cutler’s head. Recalling his actions, Cutler said: “I started a mail order business and it’s kind of funny; I would sell a picture of myself and a t-shirt. And people sent me money orders and checks and that’s when I kind of started my business. Every week I received personal money from basically nobody.

Cutler continued, “You know, I was a guy who had maybe a few pictures in a magazine… and that’s how I started my entrepreneurial career. The photos were priced at $10, while the shirts cost “$20.” Cutler appropriated his total income, at the time from these sales and his contract, to about $100,000.

Plus, Cutler shared how that thousand dollar sale turned into a million after he moved to Las Vegas. “I was selling T-shirts from my garage when no one was making T-shirts, and I was making a million dollars a year just selling T-shirts,” the former Mr. Olympia recalled. In addition to his commendable entrepreneurial skills, Jay Cutler also has a keen sense of investment.
